Collecting Prescriptions for controlled drugs
From 1st February 2018 – anyone collecting a Controlled Drug prescription on behalf of a patient must provide photo ID of that patient. Patients not know to reception staff will also be expected to provide photo ID when collecting Controlled Drug prescriptions.
Community pharmacy staff will be expected to show their workplace ID to verify that they are collecting prescriptions on behalf of the pharmacy.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
Electronic Prescriptions Service (EPS)
From 12th March 20 all prescriptions generated at the practice will be processed electronically. Please let us know your preferred pharmacy and your prescription will go straight there saving you a trip to the practice to pick it up!
If you don't have a nominated pharmacy, then when you come to the practice to collect your prescription you will receive a white paper 'token'. This token will have a barcode printed on it - the pharmacy will scan the barcode and they will be able to then dispense your prescription for you.
